The Baker County Pre-K/Kindergarten Center was presented with a banner by Martha Murray from Florida PBS of Tallahassee. Ms. Murray commends our school for being a model school using the Positive Behavior System.

The Pre-K/Kindergarten Center implements the Positive Behavior Support program.  This program encourages and establishes desired student behavior.  All teachers and staff members teach and model the expectations and rules for all areas of our school.  These rules and expectations are taught through role play, skits, and classroom lessons.  Students are rewarded for positive behavior by giving students "Kindercash".  Students can spend the "Kindercash" on various rewards, monthly activities, and items from the school store.

Visitor Policy:

Per school policy, visitors MUST present their driver licenses (or another form of government issued identification).  An adhesive badge will then be printed, showing their visitor's name, destination and date.  In addition to enhanced security, the system will also provide valuable records such as volunteer hours.  To ensure the safety of our students, no exceptions will be made.

 

Volunteers:

We LOVE volunteers at the Pre-K/Kindergarten Center.  If you would like to volunteer at any school in our district or chaperone a field trip, a volunteer application needs to be completed and turned in to the front office.  The deadline for turning in volunteer applications for the 2011-2012 school year is Monday, October 31.

 

Parent Drop Off:

All children should be dropped off in the car rider loop.  Staff are present at designated areas to ensure the safety of all children.  If you are dropping off your child after 9:00, you should check your child in through the front office.

 

Student Pick up:

Parents may line up in the designated traffic lane for student pick up starting at 2:15 p.m.  Your child's teacher will provide a dashboard sign with your child's name and teacher's name.  Please have your sign displayed on the passenger side dashboard when picking up your child.  NOTE - You must be listed on the yellow card in order to pick up a child.

 

Meetings and Conferences:

All meetings and conferences with teachers need to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.  If you would like to schedule a conference, please call the Front Office at 904-259-0405.  You may leave a phone message for the teacher to call you back at their earliest convenience.

S = Satisfactory

N = Needs Improvement

U = Unsatisfactory

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2012 - 2013 school year is going on now.  In order to attend kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2013. 

Please note that schools are staffed all year throughout the summer.  Stop by the Baker County Pre-K/Kindergarten Center to complete the registration packet as early as possible so the school will be prepared for your child!
