Jacksonville Zoological Gardens Field Trip Notice 2016

The PKKáCenter Kindergarten Classes are going to the Jacksonville Zoo on Tuesday, May 3, 2016

We willáleaveáTheáBaker County Pre-K/K Center byá8:00 A.M. andáreturnáback to school byá4:00 p.m. áA parent/guardianáMUST bring and pick up studentsáin the car rider area. á(There will be signs pointing to "Zoo Field Trip Drop OFF/Pick Up". áAgain, studentsámust be picked up after the field trip.ááThere will be no bus transportation toápick up or take students home on the day of the field trip.

The cost for PKKástudents is $20.00 (cash only) and includes admission, lunch, a train ride, sea lion and stingray exhibits.á

All adults purchasing tickets through The Baker County Pre-K/K Center are considered chaperones and must be an approved volunteer with the Baker County School District. á

The adult ticket prices is $18.00 and includes admission, train ride, sea lion and stingray exhibits.

We will accept two CASH payments of $10.00 for PKK students.
The first payment is due on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
The second payment of $10.00 is due on Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

**Deadline for all payments for students and any adults going will be Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

**If the money has been paid towards the trip, and your student does not participate in the field trip, either by parent choice or for disciplinary reasons, any money paid will not be refunded if the money has been sent to the bus company or tickets to the Jacksonville Zoo have been purchased.

Only The Baker County Pre-K/K Center students may attend this field trip. áNo siblings may attend.

The Baker County School District has guidelines, which affect students who owe the school district money for things such as lost library books, Extended Day, etc.á If a student owes money to the district, he or she will not be allowed to go on any field trip, unless the debt is settled first.á
All debts must be settled by April 27, 2016.

All students are required to ride the bus to The Jacksonville Zoo.á If you would like for your child to ride back from the Jacksonville Zoo with you, a "Check Out Form" must be completed in The Baker County Pre-K/K Center's front office by Monday, April 29, 2016 no later than 3:30 p.m.

The week of May 16 - 20 we will be celebrating the completion of the 2015-2016 kindergarten year. áKindergarten s
tudents will be called up on the stage in alphabetical order from the hallway behind the stage. á áAfter each student walks across the stage, the curtains will be closed and students will be assembled on the risers to perform their grand finale. á

LOST AND FOUND
We have an abundance of jackets, coats and sweaters in our lost & found corner. áParents, please feel free to comeáand see if one of theseámay belong to your child. áWe recommend that you put your child's first and last name on the tags of their outer wear. áBy putting your child's name on their outwear we can make sure it gets to the correct child. áThank you for you assistance with this matter.
Florida Kid Care
Through Florida KidCare, the state of Florida offers health insurance for children from birth through age 18, even if one or both parents are working.
Registration for VPK 2016-2017 is February 22, 2016
Parents may apply NOW for the FLORIDA VPK program. áCertificates will take 1-3 days for approval. áThe website is ecs4kids.org. á
  • After applying with the state, you must call Lisa ​Koburger at 904-259-3014, or Felicia at 904-259-0405 to reserve a seat in our program(s).
  • Mrs. Koburger can assist parents in uploading and/or printing certificates. á
  • Proof of residency can be a Driver Licenses (the address must match), or a utility bill in the parent's name and address you are registering with.
  • Proof of age is the child's birth certificate or shot record.

In order for an absence, tardy or check-out to be excused, documentation must be received in the attendance office within 5 school calendar days, as referred to on page 4 of your child's planner and in the Pupil Progression Plan that can be found on our website at www.pkk.bakerk12.fl.us.á
Transportation change
All children must be picked up through the car rider loop.á If you should have to check your child out, please do so before 2 p.m. If you need to change the way that your child goes home, please call the school by 2 p.m.á We appreciate your help.á

If your child is missingá jacket, please feel free to come and take a look in our Lost & Found located in the front office.
